I am Black.

I am Black and proud.
I am a Black woman.

Black is bold.
Black is strength.
Black is sophisticated.

Blood, sweat, tears,
It took us years to get here
But we’re still not really here,
Our voices still silenced.

The flame of oppression still burns.
The hate they inflict corrupted our hearts and veins.
Still invisible.
Still forced to accept the bare minimum.
Still hurting.

Still mourning black lives that were lost.
Still trying to fight for our rights.
Still fearing our loved ones might not come back home
Still surviving but they never want us to thrive
But still we Rise.
